Learning and eligibility
What is RefundIQ Academy?+
RefundIQ Academy is the education, simulation, coaching and professional-development portion of the RefundIQ Marketer platform. It combines structured lessons, realistic TaxLab cases, client-communication practice, AI simulations, assessments and support.
Do I need previous tax-preparation experience?+
No. The Academy includes foundational material for newer preparers and advanced practice for experienced professionals. The IQ Team can help identify an appropriate starting point.
Is RefundIQ Academy affiliated with the IRS?+
No. RefundIQ Academy is independent and is not part of, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Internal Revenue Service.
Does the training authorize me to prepare tax returns?+
No. Training completion does not grant legal authority, a PTIN, an EFIN, or an IRS credential. Each participant is responsible for applicable federal, state, software, office and professional requirements.
Can I access training from my phone?+
Yes. The Academy supports mobile access. Detailed TaxLab and dashboard activities may be easier to complete on a larger screen.
Is training available in English and Spanish?+
RefundIQ is being developed to support both languages. Ask the IQ Team which lessons, simulations and live sessions are currently available in each language.

How the tools work
What is TaxLab?+
TaxLab is a simulated environment with taxpayer facts, source documents, blank return fields, transmissions, acknowledgements, corrections and rejection-resolution scenarios. It is training—not live filing.
What is the Sales Call Simulator?+
The Sales Call Simulator plays the client during realistic conversations. Agents practice discovery, explanations, objections, disclosures and next-step guidance.
What is rejected-return training?+
It teaches agents to read an acknowledgement, identify the affected field, determine which document or fact is needed, correct the return, make the Form 8879 decision, retransmit or escalate, and document the outcome.
Does completing the Academy guarantee employment?+
No. Completion does not guarantee a job, contract, office placement or independent-contractor opportunity. Hiring and onboarding decisions are separate.
Does RefundIQ guarantee income or clients?+
No. Income, leads, conversion, production and results vary based on experience, effort, market, pricing, follow-up, office terms and tax-season demand.
OFFICES + EFIN
Participation options
Can tax-office owners enroll multiple agents?+
Yes. Office plans support team training, practice visibility, CRM workflow, recruiting, branding, management roles and graduated seat pricing.
Can my office join with its own EFIN?+
Yes. Offices with their own EFIN can use per-agent pricing beginning at $99 per agent per month, with a three-seat minimum and graduated tiers.
Can my office participate without an EFIN?+
Potentially. An office may apply for a supervised ERO relationship using per-funded-and-paid-return pricing. Approval is not guaranteed and requires a written agreement and compliance review.
Does RefundIQ rent or transfer an EFIN?+
No. RefundIQ does not rent, sell, transfer or assign an EFIN.
Can I use my own office brand?+
Office plans include branded portal options. Service-bureau arrangements can add a fully white-labeled experience and multi-office hierarchy.
PAY + PARTNERS
Compensation and sales
How can individual agents be paid?+
Qualified employee opportunities may offer $20 per hour plus flat production bonuses of $25 for returns 1–50, $30 for returns 51–100 and $35 above 100. Commission-only opportunities may begin at 20% and progress to 25% and 30% based on written quality and performance standards. Final terms are confirmed in writing.
Can I earn commissions by helping sell RefundIQ?+
Approved partners may qualify for 15% referral, 20% authorized sales, or 25% Premier rates on eligible future sales. All eligibility and payment terms are governed by the signed partner agreement.
